Use & Target Crops

For the control of spider mites under glass in vegetable, ornamental, and berry crops as well as in cherries; in open field use on stone and berry fruits.

Mode of Action

A. (N.) californicus feeds on all stages of the common spider mite. This predatory mite can also utilize alternative food sources such as fungi, pollen, or nectar. Compared to other predatory mites, it establishes well even at higher temperatures (> 30 °C). For effective use, the relative humidity should be at least 60 %.

Additional info: Neomite consumes up to 5 spider mites per day and remains active on the plant for 4–6 weeks. The sachets contain feed mites (for nutrition only); occasionally visible feed mites are not a quality issue. Do not open the sachets.

Application

  1. Timing: Apply preventively or at the very first signs of infestation.
  2. Application: Hang the paper sachets with the suspension hook directly on the plant (do not open). The predatory mites exit through the pre-cut hole; sachets remain active for up to 6 weeks.
  3. Reapplication: Repeat as needed depending on infestation level and climate.

Application Rates (Guidelines)

  • Vegetables & ornamentals: preventively 25 ind./m²; at infestation 100–200 ind./m²
  • Fruit crops (pome, stone & berry fruits, cherries): 25–200 ind./m² (depending on infestation, canopy height, and density)
  • Sachet method: place 1 sachet per 5 plants (adjust according to crop density)

Remarks

Contains mixed life stages in inactive carrier material enriched with food mites for A. californicus. Shelf life: max. 2 days at 10–15 °C. Handle sachets by the cardboard strip only (avoid crushing).
